After a long, hard week I spent this evening getting some much needed relaxation time. I went to the nail salon with my friend Rachel to try out Shellac, the new UV gel polish everyone has been raving about. As a swimmer, my manicures usually last two practices at most (one day) so this is a desperate attempt. After much indecision, I chose a simple nude color to keep it professional for my holiday internship meetings at home.
I also relaxed listening to some Christmas music (Justin Bieber-GUILTY!) and making Holiday cards for our coaching staff. I also put the final touches on my secret santa gift for my team's holiday party. Look how cute!
Sunshine and southern living. NOLA oak trees and wet hair. peaches and smiles. flip flops and pomegranate seeds. bacon and bikinis. It's not a lauren-ism, it's a way of life.

Hello blogging!
Hey yall! My name is Lauren. I'm a 21 year old business marketing and management student just trying to figure out my path through college and into the real world. I don’t intend to have many followers (hello, is anyone out there?). BUT in the event I stay serious about this thing, I’d like yall to get to know a little more about me.
College is a time of immense change in a young woman’s life. Since my freshman year I have grown and changed so much. While trying to figure out exactly who I want to be, I feel it’s important to remember where I am at right now. Carpe Diem! I created this blog to document my journey to serious adult-hood (will that ever really happen?!).
I value family and friends. I firmly believe that with that foundation, nothing can shake you. The key right now is learning to balance those relationships with my job (swimming), school work, and a little me time! Although I spend a majority of my time in athletic clothes, I have always had a true love for fashion. I also love all things crafty- from jewelry to furniture. I plan to post some of my favorite DIYs and projects.
So here we go on my ABC's!
